Alternative Medicine therapies available at Advocare Grove:

A traditional Chinese medicine technique that uses tiny needles placed at specific points around the body to stimulate the body’s natural healing process. It can be beneficial in treating conditions including neck & back pain, headaches, osteoarthritis, tennis elbow, fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel syndrome, myofascial pain, nausea, anxiety, depression, and insomnia.

Osteopathic Manipulation Treatment (OMT)

Is designed to relieve tightness and restriction in nerves and muscles that can be caused by or lead to other problems. Osteopathic physicians are trained to use their hands to gently move a patient’s joints and tissues to correct any restrictions in range of motion. They can apply light pressure, resistance, and stretching. Their techniques include myofascial release, which releases tension in the fascia (the layer of connective tissue that surrounds the bones, muscles, and organs) and osteopathic cranial manipulation, which applies soft pressure to the skull to stimulate healing.

Muscular Skeletal Therapeutic Injections

Injections into articular, periarticular, or soft tissue structures relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and improve mobility. Injections can provide diagnostic information and are commonly used for pain control. Local anesthetics may be injected with corticosteroids to provide additional, rapid pain relief.

Naturopathic Counseling

Is aimed at uncovering and addressing the many factors that impact one’s health, be they social, emotional, cultural, cognitive, and/or environmental. As these things can impact health and healing, counseling can address the mind, body, and spirit in a holistic manner. It can help patients understand the underlying psychological and emotional factors influencing their health. Counseling can help develop goals and lifestyle changes that can improve health and well-being.

Functional Medicine Counseling

Is an individualized approach aimed at determining the root causes of illness and addressing these issues using dietary and lifestyle changes. By assessing the root cause of an illness, rather than focusing on symptoms, the physician can make a personalized treatment plan. It requires a detailed understanding of the patient’s genetic, biochemical, and lifestyle factors..
